Darko Lazarevski | born 1986 | Skopje, Macedonia

My first official contact with architecture occurred in 2001 during a geometry class at the Construction School Centre. However, long before developing this passion for architecture, my earliest creative interest was in automotive design. As a child, I passionately collected pictures of sports cars and sketched countless vehicles. After graduating from high school in 2004, I enrolled at the Faculty of Architecture at the "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" State University in Skopje.

I completed the first phase of my studies in 2012, successfully defending my diploma thesis entitled "Kayak Center on the Treska River - Skopje," under the mentorship of Professor Viktor Pajvanski. Shortly after graduating, I secured my first job as a graduate architect at "ACG," a local construction and real estate company. Working there as a junior architect, I was directly and indirectly involved in the design and sale of apartments. This post-graduation period was eye-opening; I confronted the real-world realities of urban architecture that school hadn't prepared me for—specifically, how ordinary people accept or reject space, and how architecture inevitably shapes and influences public life.

After a year at "ACG," I moved to the architectural studio "Krug," which was developing the main project for the new "Mother Teresa" Clinical Center in Skopje. Alongside my colleagues, I worked on detailing the project to make it ready for construction. This environment taught me the true value of teamwork, office collaboration, and international cooperation, particularly while working with the esteemed firm "Aren" from Turin.

 

Following these two invaluable professional experiences, I pursued my Master’s degree, graduating in 2016 under the continued mentorship of Professor Viktor Pajvanski. My master's thesis was titled "Aquatic Center on Prespa Lake - Markova Noga, Macedonia."

 

Since completing my Master’s studies, I have worked as a freelancer and as a employed too, collaborating with various companies and clients, I have developed numerous architectural solutions, driven by a continuous search for professional growth and innovation.
